Welcome to the official web page of the Taparra Lab. Our team includes undergraduate students, graduate students, and medical students who have an interest in health disparities research, particularly relevant to Pacific Islander communities - an underserved population with ancestral roots across Oceania. We represent Native Pacific Islander voices from Yap, Guam, Fiji, Tonga, Sāmoa, and Hawaiʻi. Together, our team of NHPI and NHPI-allies welcomes new interdisciplinary collaborations to further our understandings of the unique health disparities of Pacific Islanders in order to improve health outcomes for our future patients.
